Professional Editing/Query Critique Services
The following fees for services are on average. Some submissions will need less work, others a bit more. Fees are rendered by the hour, but will not exceed more than $10 over estimate.
Query (Fiction or Nonfiction): $65. Includes suggestion on agents or publishers for your particular book.
* Requirement: Use the standard business letter format. Queries are almost always one page. However, for a nonfiction book that includes a lot of research and sources, it may exceed that by half a page.
Novel Synopsis: $140. Three to five double-space pages, approximately 1, 250 words. This is not always the standard (always check the publisher's guidelines, as they vary) but double space allows me room to make comments.
* Requirement: Use Times New Roman/12-point Font.
Book Proposal: $140. This includes critiques on your Cover Letter (1 Page), Overview (up to 3 pages, double-spaced), Marketing Info (up to 3 pages), Competitive Analysis (up to 3 pages), and Chapter Outline (up to 2 pages).
First Page Critique: $45.
Press Releases: One single-spaced page. $65.
*NOTE: My schedule is such that I cannot commit to editing complete book proposals or manuscripts. However, I highly recommend the following professional editors:
